Ridge Database

Some examples of the ridge structures arising from analysis of digitial terrain data from topographically interesting areas of the globe are shown below. The location, orientation, and approximate width of each ridge feature is indicated by a box. The color of the box is scaled by the estimated height of each ridge. Note this height is not the height above sea level, but is an estimate of the elevation change from the peak to the foot of each ridge. Note also the change in the height range of the color bar from plot to plot.
